From wasteland to Dog of the Year!

Peggy was one of 12 dogs rescued by the RSPCA after being found abandoned in horrific conditions on a wasteland, living in a derelict caravan and stables. The dogs were only discovered after one escaped and led a member of the public back to the others — a true hero who likely saved them all.

Llys Nini took in all 12 dogs, providing the love and care they desperately needed. Alongside routine treatments such as vaccinations, spaying, medication and grooming, many required complex veterinary work, including dental surgery, mammary mass removals and hernia repairs, costing thousands of pounds.

Homes or foster placements were found for all the dogs, but Peggy waited five months before her perfect family came along. It was truly her lucky day. Her transformation has been incredible she is now unrecognisable from when she arrived, with her cheeky, fun personality shining through.
