The Trust, which is devoted to supporting animal welfare charities in the South West Wales area, hosted the gala night to raise much needed funds to train three guide dogs.
The evening also saw the acting Chair, Marianne Pettifor; announce the launch of ‘Merlyn’ – a project set up to ease the suffering of the many neglected horses in Swansea. The Pettifor Trust is collaborating with other equine charities on how to grow this fund and use it effectively.
Guests were entertained throughout the evening by Mark Bowden’s mind-bending; close up magic and mind reading, stand-up comedy from circuit professional Rob Hughes, and some saucy seaside postcard style comedy burlesque courtesy of local performers, Boris and Doris von Sneeze and Burly Chassis.
Thanks to the generosity of guests, sponsors and supporters, the gala night raised £1382.00 of which, £612 will be spent on training three guide dogs, and the remainder put towards the setting up of Merlyn.
